Philippe Parreno (collab, etc.)

I am fresh out of the car from a trip to Bard. The nytimes review describes it quite nicely.

This is the first time I’ve seen Anywhere out of the world. Actually, I watched it three times (Bard is quite a drive from New Haven). Click on that link. Read it if you haven’t seen it yet. It’s really great.

I had a really personal reaction to the work, and I am so glad I went. Anywhere out of the world  was way creepier and touching than I thought it would be. It also reminded me of how for months, all I could ask myself was if people could be things. And here is a character well aware of her “thing-ness” and that makes her without a home: “I was bought, but strangely I do not belong to anybody.”

The show overall was well worth seeing. More artists from the group show to come.
